Cigarette Lighter Phone? Good Luck Finding a Place to Use It.

Big tobacco lives on. I wonder how many more accidents this device would cause on the highways. I can see your average chain smoking soccer mom or marijuana loving teenager trying to text, roll a blunt and light a cig on the road. Another thing to distract drivers is just what we need.

Obvious safety issues aside, this is quite the amazing little development. I honestly can say I never thought about adding a lighter function to anything other than a lighter…

The biggest question about the device though is: Where in the hell can you use it? With the wave of smoking bans sweeping the country, you can hardly smoke in your own home anymore let alone anywhere you’d bring a mobile phone.

Of course in every other country in the world smoking ain’t so bad. If it ever sees the light of day it’ll add lung cancer to the brain cancer your phone already gives you.

They Didn’t Teach Me This At Basketball Camp

I’m an athlete. I know how things work. I understand a ball goes in a basket and you are awarded points. What I don’t understand is how in the HELL someone even thought putting a ball through a net like this was feasible.

If it’s fake I’ll eat my words like an Ethiopian author. Otherwise this is some spectacular stuff.

Microwaving In the Break Room a Thing of the Past

 

Really? I want one... but not for $150.

 

 

Perhaps Gama Microwave Technology and Heinz have the right idea. If people don’t have to leave their desk to microwave their lunch, we’ll all become more productive. But it’s more likely they’re trying to make this thing work to market some new snack line. 

Oh wait…they are. 

 

A lithium-ion battery pack lets you take this thing on the road.

 

 

The current prototype doesn’t use microwaves, they require far too much power, instead it utilizes the same waves transmitted via your cellphone. Ya, think twice before answering your phone next time. If it can cook food, it can cook your brain cells too.

Problem is no one is going to pay $150 for this. Wise up Heinz.

I take everything I said back. Snow Leopard is only $29 to upgrade…Everything I know about operating systems has changed.

So Snow Leopard is faster, and neater on your computer. Neater to the tune of 6gb of data being freed up once you install the white cat. Apparently it’s also 45% faster whatever that means. 

I guess they felt it was important to let me know preview can now open jpegs 2x faster…wow. Oh well there’s a too much information for one man to put down at this moment. Wait for the bug announcements and wrap up later today.

The New Macbook Air is a whole freakin lot cheaper. Enjoy, or not. Just buy the 13″ unibody.

New 15″ and 13″ Macbook Pro

 

The New MacBooks

Apparently the new 15″ Macbook Pro maintains the unibody design, but has a non-removable battery that lasts 7 hours. This is either a good thing or a bad thing. Bad in that I can’t replace my battery on the road. 

 

List of other new features

• Better LCD, 60% more color gamut.
• Finally a standardized SD slot. Guess they realized no one used that other POS slot. 
• up to 3.06 ghz dual core, 500 gb hardrive and 8gb of 1066mhz ram.
• Best part, $1699 introductory price….$300 less than before.
• Firewire 800
• The 13″ is nearly the same. At what point is it just a smaller Macbook Pro?
• And it’s official all of the Aluminum unibody Macbook laptops are Macbook Pros.
• $1199 for the base Macbook. Everything is cheaper, damn I bought my macbook at the wrong time I guess.

WWDC 09: It’s Here

Well the WWDC is hear and I’ll be here to organize all the information in one nice spot. If that’s possible, I guess.

Will they announce a netbook? New iPhone? New iPod touch? We’ll see.
